Let’s ignore the stain on this photo that makes it look like I’ve peed myself, shall we? L to R: Alex Mac, Liza, Me, Adrienne.

This weekend has been interesting, and full of people I haven’t seen in a long time and don’t see often enough, as I’ve said before, once you’re a part of my life, you’re stuck.

It doesn’t matter if we only see each other once a year, or once a month, or whatever. It’s always really nice to see old friends, there is just an immediate short hand, and old jokes and a feeling of home that sometimes you didn’t even know you were missing.

We’re preparing for Liza’s wedding, and I got to see her and some old fig friends, and some high school people, and Liza’s mom, who I haven’t seen since 2006. It was really nice, once the official wedding business was over, we hung out for a while and had some wine and chilled. It was most welcome, and she is a wonderful hostess.

Yesterday Nikki came over with her little-un who is absolutely adorable, we swam and splashed and I filled my bed up with stuffed animals for her, and Nikki brought us some very excellent jambalaya! Little bit got started to get tired, so they went home.

Then Ian came by, I haven’t had a chance to sit down and just talk to him in a long time. He came out for the pool opener, but I feel that, even though I love a big party, you commit to so many people that you don’t end up really getting to spend time with anyone.

So, Ian came and hung out, and we talked and watched Never mind the Buzzcocks and he is a magic man who brings Starbucks over with him 😀 I must now continue these trends by doing nice things for others. As Ben pointed out to me, “Give of what you have without expecting to receive anything in return.” Ben is a beardy Buddha. He is wise, and ever so chill.
