Ubisoft Quebec, the company currently responsible for developing Assasin’s Creed release or the Wii U console, is releasing an Avengers game for Xbox 360 and Wii U exclusively, Battle for Earth. Ubisoft has not gone into detail on how the motion platform will figure into the overall gameplay.
They have said that this title will include “competitive gameplay” which infers multiplayer battles, and possibly even 4p co-op. The motion console exclusivity is a curve ball in this game, which one would usually think would fall into the action game genre.
The game will include the main team from the Avengers movie but is not a tie-in, and will also include yet to be specified characters from the Marvel universe, the game will be set in the Secret Invasion universe, so at least some of the villains will be the Skrulls.
The inclusion of the Skrulls in the game, and Black Widow in the movie leaves the door open for many other characters, I hope to see Silver Surfer, and maybe even some DC crossover if Ubisoft is up to it.
