This past weekend I went to the Bates Motel with some old friends and some new friends.

We did the Hay Ride, and the Bates Motel itself, then had some snacks and drinks while the rest of the group went into the corn maze.

I was not interested in spraining an ankle or falling on one of my poor friends, so I abstained from the corn field.

It was really fun though, and I had considered not going, but Tammy, wizened as she is told me not to be an idiot and that of course I would go. Cat, Tammy, Steph and I ended up going to a diner on the way home, then watching some tv together when we got back.

Sunday morning my back ached something fierce but so did my face from grinning and laughing all night, and as far as I’m concerned a little bit of a smarting back is well worth a night well spent with awesome people.

Early August we went to see Rocky Horror at the TLA.
It’s been so long since I went to Rocky live, in fact the last time was at Maggio’s almost 3 years ago, and I’m going later this month to see Cat perform in Phoenixville. It will be my first time seeing her perform, and she’ll be shadow casting the role of Magenta. Woo!!

I’m actually busy every weekend this month, and a few weekdays. I can’t decide for pumpkin carving weather it should be Cthullu, or Ash from Army of Darkness, either way, it should be epic.

Job hunt is still ongoing, but I am confident I will find something suitable. I am still waiting on unemployment to get sorted out, but at least, as it turns out, my former employer is going to be fined for incorrect reporting practices. Kharma baby!

In other news, I have the Harvest Fest coming up where I have a space with Cat to sell my, and her wares. Afterwards there will be a pumpkin carving party at my house, with horror movies and hot cider. October is my favorite.

In 17 days, my hetero life-mate will be coming home to Philly for good, I’m excited. He’s my bestie and the last four years weren’t the same without him. Also coming up is my annual Halloween party, last year at this party I was in a very different place socially, emotionally, and financially. While socially and emotionally are much better, I’m waiting for financial to right itself.

We also had the pool closer, and this party I was the hot mess, but good times were had by all regardless.

I’ve been very happy that I’ve been surrounded by people who really care about me recently, and it’s been a huge help. I’m very lucky. ❤
