It’s been one week…

I’m in the process of rebuilding my previous website that had been sitting unbuilt for the last decade because I lost my hosting I am reminded of how I started getting into websites which is that when I was 12 or 13 years old I saw the movie hackers because of course I did and because Angelina Jolie and Johnny Lee Miller are super hot and like Matthew Lillard just the whole thing I f loved it.

I was also raised by a narcissist / software engineer so of course I have been using computers pretty much since I was a toddler I used to play video games on a floppy disk on a commodore. I was already playing video games on a computer before I learned to play Oregon Trail or number munchers.

So it only makes sense that the aesthetic and the taboo element of hacking would appeal to me especially after seeing you know a cool sexy movie about it. The truth is that learning hacking is quite boring learning shell script is a pain in the ass and Unix is cool but I didn’t want to have to rely on it.

So the next best thing became learning how to build websites; so I did just that, learning HTML and Java I built a bunch of my own websites before Myspace. I had an Angel Fire website and a GeoCities and they were all decked out with custom CSS and all kinds of obnoxious bullshit.

I think the first time I built my own website I was 15 years old i’m 39 now. I haven’t kept up on learning HTML5 or a lot of the new stuff but I still know how to build it and I can still rattle off the HTML for inserting an image into a web page off the top of my head. I rebuilt this website in WordPress because honestly I don’t need to prove anything to anyone.
This early fascination with technology however led me to become an early adopter and run my own blogs and websites over the past 24 years.

Now that I feel old, I am planning to restore some of the old blog posts to this website there are freelance pieces that I did for video game news websites there are interviews that I did with online personalities and celebrities which I plan to continue doing it’s been a long time since I employed that part of my skill set because I was speaking to guests on Twitch for so long which I hope to also continue doing.

My plan for 2024 is to make this website and this blog far more robust to engage more with my creativity and share it more in more places as well as start interviewing people who are special to me again so some of that is going to be “celebrities” and internet personalities and some of it is just going to be people I know in the industry either on YouTube or in the music industry or in media in general and I am excited to restart this part of my life and I hope that all of you will come along for the ride with me.

It’s not always going to be interviews and media and Recaps of my outings and outfits of the day sometimes it’s going to be serious things because I am chronically ill I have chronic pain and I have an alphabet of diagnosis so sometimes I’m going to talk about that because it impacts my life in a huge way and I hope that you will stick around through the tough posts as well as the fun posts and we can all see where this goes together.
