Merry Christmas, I don't want to fight tonight.

As the holidays firm grasp on my life tightens this week, I am starting to look forward to them. I know there will be family, and friends and parties and drinking and good times.

I have off for almost a week, which is nice. Vacation is great when you’re in school, but there’s something nice about paid vacation. I earned my time off. I like that.

I still have about half my shopping to do which will take up a few of my days off, and then wrapping and handing out. After that, I’m looking forward to doing a lot of nothing. Just enjoying good company and doing absolutely nothing for a day or two.

That’s what you look forward to when you work 50+ a week. The idea of not being tired from work, and enjoying my new gadgets and whatnot in uninterrupted peace is just about the greatest thing I can think of right now, and it’s close. Very close.

A week from Christmas is my birthday, for which I’ll probably wait a week, then arrange something at a bar. I don’t feel like trying to throw a party. Probably drinks and karaoke somewhere. I’m hoping to get space at Yakitori boy. I’m not gonna go crazy, 27 isn’t any big milestone.

The thing I want most is to see friends I haven’t seen and have good conversations and play silly drinking games and just have fun. That would be the best present I could get this year, and I think I can safely expect it.

As for new years resolutions, mine are the same as most anyone’s. I’m going to take better care of myself, go to the gym regularly, and try to go out more. We’ll see how that goes.

I’m gonna see if I can host a mix on this like Shmitten Kitten has been doing with her monthly ones, I have a killer Christmas mix.

Edit: I did it! Here’s the link to download.

I am just now catching up on your blog. I love it. Please write more. I like the mix, I think you sent me a link back around xmas. However I feel you should be “made to care” (get that reference to one of the songs on the list!!!) that “fairytale of new york” is kirsty maccoll, not kristy mcnichol 🙂
