Game companies are now making moves to cash in on the wave of Vampire loving geeks. With the rise of Twilight, Southern Vampire Stories/ True Blood, and Anita Blake, Vampires are the hot new monster, Zombies are classic but Vampires are sexy.
Kalypso has announced their own vampire-themed stealth game, developed by RealmForge (Ceville), promising that the player can make “the most of powerful vampire skills, stealth and lethal combat abilities”, wherein you’ll be able to ‘vanish in a puff of smoke’, like a fanged ninja. Wouldn’t it be better to turn into a bat? I thought that was the old school thing to do.
Some details are still sketchy, but they’ve also said that the atmosphere will be a “futuristic cityscape”, set in a “treacherous techno universe.” The game, which doesn’t include vampire roofies or body spray, is scheduled to be released in early 2013.
Having played Vampire: The Masquerade – Redemption, and Bloodlines by Activision, I’ve already got some preconceived notions on how this game should be, as long as it’s not the cluster-f*ck that Vampire Rain was, I’ll be happy with it.
